WOD -
1 mile run
25 Thrusters (95/65)
50 Pullups
75 Abmat situps
1 mile run
I wanted to send some blog love out to Graham, Tony, DA and Chris who moved that weight yesterday. Damn impressive by all of them. Chris, what was that as far as % of bodyweight? The performances all around were sick to watch.
Have to also give it up to Chelsea who put her Push Jerk where her mouth was. She didn't do one round with the updated 125 women's weight, she did all five. Nasty performance Chelsea. Next time you tell me the women's weight should be different, I will just change it and not ask questions.

Its gotta be the shoes, Chelsea!

Alright, so I'm thinking the competition should be one rep max at Deadlifts.
No really, I think 3 WOD's: 1 heavy lift or a total of a few heavy lifts; 1 short quick WOD; and one "Chipper" (say in Canadian for Brandon).
But I am against the total time scoring used in the CF games. I think it screws people (Kurt is my example). So we'll have to form a new ranking/scoring system.
Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?
Don't forget Neil...I'm pretty sure I looked over at one point and saw him doing those 185# jerks one-handed. Chelsea and Felch are rock stars.
Plus Neil finished in half my time...and he didnt even have the shoes!
I agree that if not set-up well, total time isnt the best way to score...BUT if all WODs are to be done in x time with great variance. Then haveing all 3 at x est time would be a good way to score. The row doesnt have much variance so it's not a good WOD for comp.
We could have the ranking system that a 1-5 place finish for each would have points attached to them. Team with highest total wins.
thoughts??
please explain a Chipper. this is over my head.
That is unbelievable Chelsea! I don't think we have ever met, but I am in awe of you! Great job- I hope you told all your family and friends :) Thanks Lance for letting us know!!

Thanks Beth! Hope to meet you one of these days :)
Great programming this week Lance
I like it. PS- What competition is everyone talking about?
for those of you in the rooster crew... i have to warn you about chelsea; she is really sneaky, as in she will sneak up on you, and before you know it you will hear a soft giggle as you are dominated by a former F.I.T. soccer player, left to wonder.. WTF
bad ass performance Feltch for moving that weight at your size. Would have loved to see it.
i have never giggled! have i?
Hahaha....Brandon, I had a feeling you might ask a similar question today. You posted your comment yesterday right in the middle of our discussion about it...clearly with no idea that the discussion(/shit talking) was going on. Check out yesterday's post.
Peter - your suggested format is basically what I would suggest, too. 1-5 (or 1-10) rankings per event with the scor per ranking being 11 minus the rank (i.e. if you rank 1st, your score formula is 11-1 = 10; if you rank 9th, your formula is 11-9 = 2). Total points = AM Class...I mean winners! Ofcourse you can then through in there numbers arguments...but we can worry about that later.
Apparently, my ethic for checking my work for spelling mistakes does not extend to meathead forum posts....
Carrie, a chipper is a long workout that grinds you down like a wood chipper. The Filthy 50 workout is a good example. I think we need a workout called "Fargo" just for the chipper reference.
A somewhat less gruesome description is just a long workout that you have to chip away at to complete.
Awesome job, Chelsea and everyone else who moved heavy weight yesterday!
that'd work if we can get more than 2 people for the noon workouts!
First of all, huge props to everyone who completed the WOD yesterday, in terms of strength it was one of the most demanding I've done.
The comp, here are my thoughts for anyone who's listening...
Pick a certain number of people to compete, it can accommodate the largest class if need be, so lets say 20.
WOD 1 - Pick an O-Lift and set standardized weights for m/f, complete as many reps as possible without breaking, taking hands off bar, etc. Total reps for score.
WOD 2 - Sprint, 5 teammates compete at the same time in a WOD designed to take 2-5 minutes, as each team member finishes they tag another member in until everyone has completed the WOD. Total time from 1st group starting to last person finishing for score.
WOD 3 - A WOD that all competitors partake in, something like Karen and Angie combined. Scoring is based on total time for everyone to finish.
Scoring
1st place = 10
2nd place = 5
3rd place = 1
Winner take all. No math equations needed.
Neil... I jammed him here. Because not only did he finish it as Rxed, he was the top finisher. Under 7 mins. I think 6:56?? Neil, I owe you man for that one. That was sick. Kalipa, the 2008 crossfit games winner did this wod in 6:48.
The trainers will work on a setup and WODS for this competition. We can have the wods followed by a bbq or something. It will be fun.
yay bbq!! im really just here for the food...and to 'dominate' Ben.
when's the bbq? .... i mean the comp?
Which group gets to claim BRuss since he's in there 3 times a day???
That is a solid question DA. No comments on that video? That is some great old skool stuff right there.
Tony, WOD-1 would be hard to score I would think. It's a good way to test strength but hard if we pick full cleans or snatches.
When bringing the weight back down a person may need to re-grip or set the back UNLESS we did hang-pos clean or snatch or OHS. I like either hang clean or OHS @ 135...but thats just me
Much Props to
MR. Mars Blackmon!
i gotcha Lance
Lance, do we need to post a WOD for the cleans we did during someone's Freddy's Revenge?????
So maybe I'll dig out my T-shirt that goes along with this commercial....and wear it tonight.
I just weighed myself because I was a little disappointed I couldn't get the 185 yesterday.
and i think i know the problem.
154.75 Lbs moving 185 is possible
i'm just not there yet.
but i did squat clean 205 for 3 reps
Ack! I couldn't see the video until just now! Yes, it's definitely the shoe's Lance ;)
I guess I need to make an ID so I'm not Anonymous all the time! <---- New Guy John. I will have to further search for my "High Flying, Death Defying, 360 Slam Dunk" Shirt that I know I still have some where. It even has Mars on it!
PS: I'm just stoked I ran the mile without stopping!
See you Friday early AM.... uggg!
