I started Crossfitting about a year and a half ago. I was going to Y regularly, but didn’t really like going and hated fighting for a parking spot in the evenings. My boyfriend would like to take credit for me starting Crossfit – we would do the mainsite WODs sometimes but I just thought they were weird short workouts that military guys did. Then one of my girlfriends in Atlanta started Crossfitting at CrossFit North Atlanta and loved it. So one night when I couldn’t find a parking spot at the Y, I returned home and emailed Lance.
CrossFit has changed my life. I’m in better shape than when I was playing high school soccer and running track. My favorite things about CrossFit:
- Great friends
- Fun/intense/scary events
- My arms (and my butt)
- Visiting other CrossFit gyms (esp. CrossFit Montgomery County)
- Awesome trainers

How long coming to CrossFit: 1.5 years
Average # of visits a week: Probably 3x right now but there have been times when I’ve averaged 5-6x
Favorite CrossFit workout: Those that mainly consist of pull-ups, overhead squats and a few double unders.
Least favorite: AMRAPS > 12 mins – the faster you go, the more work you have to do…
Biggest CrossFit Accomplishment: Hmm, so many.the one I was most excited was my first pullup. More recently it was rewarding and fun to represent UCF on our Affiliate Cup team at Crossfit Dirty South Regionals in May.
Personal CrossFit goal for the next 12 months: Body weight snatch
CrossFit Idol: Mie – Even though she’s mainly focusing on Olympic lifting right now, she can still kick just about anybody’s ass at any given WOD.
Favorite workout jam: We don’t play Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA anymore… LOL
The slogan you would put on a Crossfit t-shirt: It doesn’t even need a slogan, we need one that says “Ultimate CrossFit” in big letters
